PRSSA Position: Firm Director of Capstone Agency
Hometown: Douglasville, Georgia
If you won the lottery and never had to work again, how would you spend your time?
I would travel around the U.S. and the world! I’ve been able to travel frequently in the last year, and it’s really opened my eyes to how amazing this earth is. I love seeing life in different cultures and the incredible natural landscapes that exist. I have a new appreciation for how beautiful this world is. I would also use that traveling ability to visit family and friends who live far away, and I would plan to go abroad and work in missions for extended periods of time.
If you could start any new club or organization on campus, what would it be and why?
The Bachelor Viewing Club. Hands down. What better way is there to ease college stress than by watching brainless reality TV?!
What on-campus (including the strip) cuisine is your absolute favorite?
I don’t eat out very much, but I’m going to go with Chipotle!
Who is your spirit animal?
I had this discussion with my intern friends this summer. According to them, my spirit animal is a lioness. But if you ask my roommate, I’m a goat… I’m going to side with the interns on this one.
What has been your best learning experience in college, either in or out of the classroom?
I interned this past summer at an international Christian nonprofit in Colorado, and it was the experience of a lifetime. I grew professionally and personally, learning the ins and outs of an in-house creative services agency. I also got to experience life and nature on the other side of the country, which taught me about seeking adventure and enjoying each day!
What inspired you to choose PR as your major?
I knew I liked communications and wanted to work on behalf of an organization by gaining supporters, customers, contributors, etc. for that organization. I’m very detail-oriented and enjoy leading teams to produce high-quality work. I also enjoy writing and speaking!
What would be your dream job after graduation?
That’s the million-dollar question! I’ve had my eyes set on agency life for a while, so I am currently aiming to work for a large agency in a major city when I graduate. Eventually, I’m open to transitioning to corporate or nonprofit sectors, especially after seeing firsthand how valuable the work is that I was able to do in my nonprofit internship this summer.
