APRIL CHAPTER MEETING-
CAPSTONE AGENCY PANEL
We hosted an informational panel about Capstone Agency, a student-run communications firm on The University of Alabama's campus. The panel featured the board of directors from the agency.
DINNER & LEARN
BRANDING
We hosted a Dinner & Learn with Jacob Crawford from Tisch Student Services on branding. Attendees learned about branding and vulnerability while enjoying catering from Jimmy Johns.
INTERNAL PR PANEL-
CHAPTER MEETING
We hosted an internal PR panel for our March chapter meeting. The panel featured Anna Claire Toxey and Morgan Johnson from The University of Alabama.
FASHION PR PANEL-
JOINT MEETING
We assisted in hosting a fashion PR panel with PRCA and Capstone Advertising Federation. The panel featured Gissella Gonzalez from Revolve, Carrie Blackwell from L'oréal, Chloe Schache from Gucci and Amanda Le from Hearst.
DINNER & LEARN-
PITCH WORKSHOP
We hosted a Dinner & Learn with Mark Barry from Minerva on pitching. Attendees learned how to craft the perfect pitch while enjoying catering from Taco Mama.
ENTERTAINMENT PR PANEL-
CHAPTER MEETING
We hosted an entertainment PR panel for our February chapter meeting. The panel featured Allison Cohen from The Pokémon Company, Tori Vines from HBO Max, Scott Waywood from Spotify and Gabbie Waller from NBCUniversal.
DINNER & LEARN-
COVER LETTER WORKSHOP
We hosted a Dinner & Learn Cover Letter Workshop. Our faculty advisor, Mrs. Sims led the workshop and provided tips and practice for writing cover letters for internship and job applications.
FALL SOCIAL-
PR BINGO
We hosted our fall social event, PR Bingo! Members got a chance to win prizes and test their PR knowledge.
NONPROFIT PR -
TB RESIDENTIAL LIVING
We had a great meeting coming up with ideas and creating deliverables for our philanthropy project with TB Residential Living.

DINNER & LEARN
We were joined by Dr. Courtney Boman for a Dinner & Learn on PR Ethics. Dr. Boman discussed the importance of PR ethics and directed an activity with ethical case studies.
WOMEN IN SPORTS PANEL
We were joined by guest speakers Delaney Galbraith from the Worchester Railers, Stephanie Gaytan from the Texas Rangers, Amanda Rosenberg from the Philadelphia 76ers, Monique Koman from the Las Vegas Raiders and Emily Clayton of Monument Realty.

Justine Groeber, UA PRSSA's vice president, led a Lunch & Learn on professional development. She discussed how to expand your portfolio while working from home and gave tips to better your LinkedIn, résumé and cover letters.

Our September Lunch & Learn held on Sept. 18 featured Betsy Quinn, partner and Global Awards director for Ketchum, who spoke to our members on how she helped Ketchum become the industry’s most awarded agency worldwide.
PERSONAL BRANDING LUNCH AND LEARN
Katrina Waelchli, UA PRSSA's vice president of social media, led a lunch and learn about personal branding. She discussed how to keep your brand consistent across all outlets include your resume, business cards, website and social media channels.
WRITE NITE
On Nov. 8, our PRSSA Chapter rented out the top floor of Starbucks for Write Nite, an event for members to get their writing juices flowing in a safe environment. Students watched "The Incredibles 2" while writing, drinking coffee and interacting with other members.
PRSSA NATIONAL CONFERENCE 2018
The University of Alabama Chapter took 13 members to the 2018 PRSSA National Conference in Austin, Texas. Our members attended several presentations and workshops, networked with students from across the country, and had the opportunity to explore Austin!
BIRMINGHAM AGENCY TOURS
UA PRSSA members headed to Birmingham on March 2 to tour several agencies in the city.
DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION SCHOLARSHIP LUNCH AND LEARN
Emily Hillhouse, UA PRSSA's vice president of diversity and inclusion, led a lunch and learn about scholarships available for multicultural and minority students.

Members heard from Andrew Cook, PRSSA national president, and Briana Bryant, PRSSA regional ambassador for Alabama. The two National Committee members talked about all of the great ways to get involved with PRSSA at a regional and national level.

Our first lunch and learn of the spring semester featured Dr. Laura Lemon. She covered the ins and outs of personal and online branding!

With the opportunity to receive immediate feedback as the night went on, the goal was to have something written by the end of the movie!
TEMPORARY EMERGENCY
SERVICES SERVICE DAY
PRSSA volunteered on Nov. 12 at Temporary Emergency Services, our chapter's nonprofit partner. Members had a blast sorting and organizing donations for the TES thrift store. You can learn more about the TES thrift store here.
